Massage Therapy

Focused Care for Jaw Pain and Facial Tension

A specialized RMT treatment designed to address jaw discomfort, clenching, grinding, headaches, facial tension, and restricted jaw movement.

RMT: Facial–TMJ–Buccal Treatment

How Facial–TMJ–Buccal Treatment Works

The jaw is closely connected to the muscles of the face, head, neck, and shoulders. Tension in these areas may contribute to discomfort, stiffness, headaches, and difficulty moving the jaw comfortably.

This specialized treatment may include:

  • External massage of the jaw, face, head, neck, and shoulders

  • Intra-oral techniques to access deeper muscles inside the mouth

  • Buccal massage techniques for the cheeks and surrounding facial muscles

  • Myofascial release and targeted manual therapy

  • Gentle jaw mobility work and stretching when appropriate

  • Personalized home-care guidance based on your needs

Treatment techniques and pressure are adjusted to your comfort and individual presentation.

What Makes This Treatment Different

Unlike a general RMT appointment, this treatment is specifically focused on the jaw, facial muscles, and related areas.

Intra-oral treatment may be included when appropriate. It is always optional and will only be performed with your informed consent. Your therapist will explain the process before treatment and adjust all techniques based on your comfort.

What to Expect

Your therapist will begin by discussing your symptoms, concerns, and treatment goals. The session may include assessment of jaw movement, muscle tension, and related areas such as the neck and shoulders.

Treatment pressure and techniques will be adapted to your individual needs.
