This place 5-star rating is why I originally decided to try - I'm thinking it must be good. But as it turns out, it's not all good as the customers rated. There is more than one massage therapists - so, this is my experience with just only one of them. I arrived around 5:20 pm for 5:45 pm appointment. At 5:45, the massage therapist was talking to a woman client, which is fine as long as it'll be 1 hour whenever my massage starts. They were still talking till almost 6 pm when the massage therapist approached me. Since this was my initial massage, he began by asking questions (this by the way is a waste of time as it leads to nowhere). After a few minutes of Q&A, he then proceeded with the massaging. It was okay but his method is way too slow and soft (maybe he's tired?). I go for massages often and have been to various massage therapists in Canada (with RMTs) and in Asia. Those in Asia by the way put in more physical effort for the money they earn (which is little by comparison to Canada). The biggest flaw made by this massage therapist however (and unethical business practice by which a complaint could be lodge) is that he ended at 5:45 - a full 15 mins earlier. That is simply not delivering your business as promised. At $126 (and soon to increase), you would think this business observes high standards and has professional therapists whom all are very skilled. When I inquired, he was initially stumped. He didn't apologize (which means he didn't see anything was amiss) but after I explained again, he said - ok, let do a bit more massage. He said he has a client at 7 pm or something like that - so, he can squeeze it some time (time which I'm paying, mind you - not free!). He asked where he should continue massaging me and I say neck and shoulders. Back I go on the massage table - just shirt off. This "make-up" massage further pissed me off. When the massage session continued, he just cradled my head and mostly holding it. He proceeded to do some more movements with his hands but these maneuvers were mostly awkward to say the least - almost like stretching the time till it's close to 7 pm. NEVER have I been to a business that cheats the customer of 15 mins massage time and what's more an inferior massage at a higher than usual price of $126. The massage was disappointing, and the massage therapist did not see anything wrong by not delivering a full 1 hour massage. Asking me to go back on the massage table for a few more minutes was also disgusting (I regretted doing it now - would you do it?). It's not the same service as a continuous full hour and it feels strange to get off the massage table, undress, and get on again. The useless initial interview already took 5 or more minutes. So, it would have been much less than a 1 hour massage had I not raise my concern. I will let you reflect on this and see if your think this is an ethical business practice.
